Do Good, Feel Good

Milky Way has a high regard for brands that are giving back to our environment, industry, and others in need. From Mavi’s focus on not using water to produce their distressed-looking denim, to Wooden Ships establishing the first solar-powered manufacturing plant in Bali, to S’well supporting clean water initiatives, we are proud to carry lines that not only do good, but feel good!

In Crested Butte (and across the world), we are in a season of really tuning in, to ourselves, our families, and our communities (virtually and geographically).   We, of course, hope to emerge into this summer and to celebrate life in Crested Butte’s customary fashion.

In Crested Butte and the greater Gunnison Valley, we are encouraged and touched by the numerous ways our local community is working together to help one another out. Two locals/part-timers, the Spencers, rallied and created (almost overnight!) the CB Tip Jar initiative to gather donations to support local servers and bartenders that are now out of work. (Be sure to scroll down when you get to their website to see all the options. You can donate to a general fund, or choose particular establishments.)

Elsewhere, volunteers are being trained to help those who truly need to stay at home get deliveries of food and necessities.

The community continues to howl at 8 p.m. MDT every eve to thank our healthcare workers and first responders, as well as just to connect in general.

If you keep your eyes peeled when you’re out and about (we know SOMETIMES we need to get out for supplies and fresh air), you’ll see heart signs and love signs and messages to those who are continuing to work on the “front lines”.
