Reflections and Intentions
Is it too late to reflect on 2020? We don’t think so, that’s what the New Year is all about right? Looking back, moving forward, and all that jazz!
Join us as we take a look back at 2020 at Milky Way and in Crested Butte, it was quite a year and we are so grateful to have experienced with you our most favorite parts of 2020!
Milky Way started off 2020 announcing our Green All Stars Program, a focus on sustainable business practices. We know 2020 was not a friend to goals of ditching disposables but we felt good about the intentions we set for our little mountain town boutique. From riding bikes to work, to our new air system (thanks Gunnison County!) we are excited to keep the goal of sustainable business practices moving forward in 2021. Many of our brands are committed to our environment as well, and are working diligently to integrate responsible practices into their production and operations.
By March of 2021 Crested Butte was in the midst of Corona Virus and it was an unsure time for residents and our treasured extended family of visitors. We offered personal virtual shopping, as well as private in-person shopping, 2020 was the year of the pivot, right?
By June we had all settled into our new normal and we were ready for the Great One Way Street Experiment, love it or hate it, it brought attention to Elk Avenue along with the Black Lives Matter Mural. Our new sustainable activewear brand, Alo, couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s often all about the outdoors in Crested Butte, but this summer put a new meaning to coming to CB to ‘get away from it all’. Guests traveled to Crested Butte in record numbers.
With Fall, the nights started to cool in Crested Butte and everyone could feel the whisper of Mother Winter, however, we enjoyed the sunny, warm days through November. What did this mean to our customers? Sweater Weather of course! You know Milky Way is the go-to for fun and fashionable sweaters in CB. Where sweaters never really get put into seasonal storage.
Late Fall we took some time to update the boutique and introduce our new rewards program, Milky Way All Stars. So many women are enjoying the benefits of this program - don’t forget to sign up next time you're in, it’s VIP Milky Way style!
And here we are now in another winter season and just as grateful as ever for you, our faithful clients! We have so many unique, yet timeless styles on the way, and we look forward to styling you into 2021.
